For fall you should use like oranges and reds and maroons kinda like the color of the leaves. And then the best i have found to wear in the winter is bright colors like hot pink so that if it snows or something your nails stand out. For spring light pinks and yellows and then for summer more toned down colors like light blue and and green, because summer is already bright so you don't need anymore brightness.
