Why is so much of what is attractive in our culture fake and unnatural? Nails, hair color, makeup, heels??

I think what is beautiful is natural..the world, people, and it seems like pop culture has gone too far with all the ';products'; to make you beautiful...what gives?Why is so much of what is attractive in our culture fake and unnatural? Nails, hair color, makeup, heels??

I understand that people want to look good, it could make them feel good about themself, raise self-esteem, help them to be more outgoing and try and accomplish things they never would have otherwise considered. BUT, unfortunately, that isn't always the progression. Some people get so caught up in the fakeness of looks that it stumps their mental growth and maturity.





What is beautiful is the natural look. There were and still are times when I wish people would have to walk around with no make up or cosmetices or anything to enhance their look. I mean no one can wear cosmetics all the time. And it just seems like the level of arrogance diminishes when the fakeness comes off.Why is so much of what is attractive in our culture fake and unnatural? Nails, hair color, makeup, heels??
